“Jim Roberts was our contact with Black Diamond for our project which consisted of (1)replacing a poured concrete front walkway that had two steps with pavers on an incline with no steps (this avoids people tripping on the steps at night) ; (2) creating a parking space next to the driveway with pavers; and (3) creating extra patio space using pavers around the back yard pool out of a grass area. Jim provided a nice presentation and competitive estimate and provided valuable creative input that steered us towards good choices of pavers and a great outcome. I was very nervous about the second part of the project (see above) because virtually all of our house utilities (gas, electric, telephone, cable, water line and drain line) all were directly through the area to be paved. Also, two massive tree root systems running through the area had to be hand removed due to being directly over the utilities. Jim and Black Diamond served up a truly outstanding crew that pulled it off without cutting any of the utility lines. Jim had good follow through and represented his company professionally and he would be our first call should we need paver services again. In summary, this was one of our best ever contracting outcomes and give due credit to Jim for that result. Chuck Clark”

“Ben Penning from Lou Penning Landscapes oversaw the complete remodel of the gardens and patios and pathways around our pool. Almost 300 plants and trees were planted, flagstone pathways and patios built, a dry creek bed configured, new irrigations system and lighting installed. The job was done with great professional care and consideration, in a timely manner, and cleanly. Lou Penning Landscapes is continuing to oversee our beautiful new gardens and they are thriving. We couldn't be happier with our results, and would recommend this team wholeheartedly.”

“I found Adam on a list of contractors for a drought tolerant landscaping project for my front and side yard. I interviewed several and they all provided me with a written quote however I chose Water-wise Landscaping. I wanted to be eligible for a city rebate also. His knowledge and familiarity with smart controllers installation and programming was a plus. I contracted with a landscape architect for the design and completion of the form to be given to the city to be eligible for the rebate. I chose Adam because his quote for service was thorough and easy to understand. He collaborated with the architect too. Adam was accurate in his time frame projections. He started the project on time as stated. Weather was a consideration. Communicating and confirming each step was clear. He also made sure he swept the drive way and sidewalk every day upon completion of that day's work. His completion of this project was on time per his estimated date. I was so happy with the outcome I then hired him to upgrade my back yard irrigation as well. Again his professionalism was spot on. I would recommend him to all.”

“I wish I could have given 5 stars. A&F is a father and son team. I emphasize "father," who was the driver of the team, and the Forman behind the excellent pavers, garden, perennial plants, turf, fire pit, and trenching work that was accomplished. However, I have a sour taste in my mouth due to a lack of timely responsiveness from Alejandro (the son) from beginning to end. A very nice young man in person and appears to be the face of the company. Once I complained about the communication concern, they initially improved, but gradually went back to guessing if I was going to be informed of the completion of the project. The project started on 16 September and took about two and a half weeks to complete some small demolition and pavers install, great timing. I waited about two to three weeks for the turf to show up and the job to be completed. The turf and pavers were finally completed in mid-October and the Garden was completed end of October. They did an excellent job on the fire pit which was not part of the original contract. I give them 5 stars on the quality of work but 4 stars overall due to the communication concerns. I do recommend A&F Landscaping; just make sure if you make any changes, amend the contract to reflect the changes.”
