COSWICK LTD

I agonized over purchasing pre-fnished solid flooring for well over a year. At some point, I decided quarter sawn oak was the way to go and came across Coswick. The website looked nice, but I couldn't find much information on the flooring, though what little I did find was positive. I contacted their U.S. distributor (Western Coswick in Colorado - I live in Washington, DC) and spoke with the rep (Bill), who was informative and helpful without being pushy for a sale. I got an assortment of samples, a mix of stains and the regular sawn to compare. I wound up really liking the regular sawn in a rose stain, which was not my favorite based on my website browsing - lesson 1: make sure you get samples (you can order those online and they ship from Canada). After finally deciding that I probably wanted to go with Coswick (yes, I have commitment issues), I called the distributor back and he suggested that I just order a single box - lesson 2: order a box before spending $5500 for an online purchase. The suggestion was great, I got a better idea of the look, discovered my dog is not a fan (she'll have to learn to live with it), and had the wood in the house as I was getting installation estimates. The estimators looked at the wood and said it was good stuff. I ordered about 1000 square feet and it is being installed today (after a few weeks of acclimating). The installers have complimented the quality of the wood and I have to say, it looks great - minimal bevels and the finish isn't too shiny. The installers like the consistency of the milling and say there has been minimal waste (I did 10% but probably could have gotten away with 5%). Overall, I am glad I took a chance, so if there is a like-minded person searching for the right wood out there, take note (and do the samples and order a box thing!). I will try to follow up in the coming months/years if something arises with the quality, but at the outset, it looks very good.

I have used Coswick flooring for several projects (both my home and my cottage), and I am very happy with the look and the quality of the product! We put down oak Albatross engineered at home - the floor is absolutely gorgeous! We used oak Terracotta in our cottage, including the basement, and it has held up very well.
