“My wife and I have moved six times in our lives. We have dealt with some very good Realtors, but Candace and Keith are by far the best we've ever had the pleasure to have worked with. They are both extremely knowledgeable of the market and were able to steer us in a direction that needed up meeting us $100,000 more than we initially thought we could get. Candace's attention to detail, ability to recommend upgrades without breaking the bank -- i.e. identifying what should be done to sell the house, vs. spending money needlessly on non- essential items -- and network of repair and design professionals made us feel extremely comfortable during what can be a stressful progress. In addition, her marketing techniques, which included staging, professional photos (including from a drone!), ad placements, etc., really put our house air the top of the list. Her husband Keith is also a secret weapon -- he and his team go through the inside and outside of the house and make the repairs that are needed -- and that an inspector would call out. He provides his services as part of their offering for up to 50 hours, which saved us thousands of dollars if we had gone to a third party contractor/repair person. They took care of all of the inspections up front and did a proactive inspection so that the entire deal was "clean" for prospective buyers. Last bu not least, 10 days before closing, we had a major water issue when our washer leaked water all over the wood floors and under the house. They both jumped on it immediately and organized a team to take care of all of the damage, including drying the floors, replacing wet insulation and removing standing water under the house, preparing the food floors, etc. We were able to close and the buyers were very satisfied with the condition of the home. I cannot stress what a great job the Nordstroms did for us from beginning to end.”

What Does an Agent or Broker Do?


Although the terms “agent” and “broker” often are used interchangeably, they’re not the same thing. Generally, a broker must have more specialised education as well as licensing, and as a result is legally authorised to execute a real estate transaction. Brokers usually play a more administrative role in the real estate process. An agent, by contrast, is a salesperson hired by a broker to interact with and handle the legwork for the clients.

When you're looking to buy a home, a buyer’s agent represents a home buyer or seller in a real estate transaction. A buyer’s agent will find California property listings that match your needs, works with the seller’s agent to schedule showings and accompanies you on visits to tour the home. If you’re interested in the house, the agent handles price negotiations and other terms of the sale, and coordinates the appropriate paperwork.

If you are engaged in a home sale, a seller’s agent will help you determine a listing price for a California property and can suggest repairs, upgrades and staging ideas to boost the home’s appeal. He or she is in charge of marketing the house to prospective buyers and other agents through signage, websites, print ads, open houses and other methods. As with a buyer’s agent, a seller’s agent represents you in negotiating the sale.
