“Jim Roberts was our contact with Black Diamond for our project which consisted of (1)replacing a poured concrete front walkway that had two steps with pavers on an incline with no steps (this avoids people tripping on the steps at night) ; (2) creating a parking space next to the driveway with pavers; and (3) creating extra patio space using pavers around the back yard pool out of a grass area. Jim provided a nice presentation and competitive estimate and provided valuable creative input that steered us towards good choices of pavers and a great outcome. I was very nervous about the second part of the project (see above) because virtually all of our house utilities (gas, electric, telephone, cable, water line and drain line) all were directly through the area to be paved. Also, two massive tree root systems running through the area had to be hand removed due to being directly over the utilities. Jim and Black Diamond served up a truly outstanding crew that pulled it off without cutting any of the utility lines. Jim had good follow through and represented his company professionally and he would be our first call should we need paver services again. In summary, this was one of our best ever contracting outcomes and give due credit to Jim for that result. Chuck Clark”

“Paul Vander provided consultation, and instalation of a french drain system to correct a moisture problem under the house. This led to a remodel of the backyard (removal of existing concrete patio, and replacement with stamped concrete; addition of retaining wall and secondary french drain; concrete pour on both side of house with drainage; partial additon to front driveway, remodel of front walkway). All through the original project and remodel, Paul gave me estimates and updates at each steps, worked with me to stay within budget as much as possible, and gave me ideas to help find solutions to any issues that always seem to crop up. The entirre project took almost four months, but the end result was very satisfying and eye pleasing. Needless to say, my wife was satified (even happy) with the result.”

“We hired William Young to do the Masonry work on our back patio at our house in Palo Alto. It was a very large job with over 1,000 square feet to be covered with a complex brick pattern. Everything about this company was amazing from day 1 to completion of the project. The end product was better then I could ever hope for and detail was overlooked. “We used Eric and his team to install artificial turf in our backyard. They were great. Eric was most helpful with his recommendations and provided us with plenty of samples. Once they started, they were efficient in preparing the surface, hauling away all old dirt and laying down the new turf. We are very happy with it....it has given our back a much needed facelift. Eric will also be doing our landscaping around the perimeter of the turf plus installing a watering system and new lighting. They are now cleaning and removing old dirt on the side of our house and laying new stone so we can park our car. Eric has been a pleasure to work with. His prices are fair given the amount of labor involved. Very professional. Next project is front landscaping. I highly recommend Milan Pavers & Turf.”

“Josh at Diavolino Hardscapes is one of the most straightforward, honest and hard working contractors I've ever had the pleasure working with. He's meticulous in his work, looks at the big picture to make sure that his job leads to the best results, and goes the extra mile whenever he can. I had him do a combination of concrete and pavers, including planters. The paver pattern was not the easiest, but he took the challenge and did a great job. What particularly impressed me is that I had to install a complex irrigation system under the pavers, and even though coordinating two contractors to work together is often times challenging, he was happy to do it. He also did a great job embedding lighting into the pavers. He always kept the job site clean and safe, and made sure his crew was as respectful to the property and people as he is. I would hire him again at a blink of the eye.”
