Comments (9)If you use one of the smaller (eg. under 800 in width) 'back to wall' style 'freestanding' baths, so it can go right up against the wall then you should be ok. A fully freestanding bath needs adequate room between it and the wall for cleaning). Generally, showers are best if 900mm or wider but this arrangement means you can gain a little elbow room above the bath. I'd still suggest allocating min 800mm for shower - most people would centre the shower head and so you don't want to reduce the elbow room too much on the glass screen side (hope that makes sense?) ...If you combine an up to 900mm vanity with a mirrored wall cabinet you should have a decent amount of storage space....See MoreHelp with dining room set up, buffet and mirror
Comments (27)Hello Elpi, I really love how you have chosen to display the mirror and artwork on the chosen walls. In regards to the buffet, I think you will find the space isn't blending nicely because it may be a little over crowded. If possible, I would see how it looks mounting the mirror to the wall, and changing to decorations with noticeably different heights. You could still use some of the items that you already have, but possibly opting for a few more that are shorter and rounder, as opposed to tall and skinny. A good place to start might be adding items that are similar colours to that of the artwork. I also, I think this would also help the dining room merge with the living room, which seems a lot softer and doesn't feature as many straight lines. Look for small, rounded coloured decorations, similar to the attached images as inspiration. Good Luck!...See MoreWet Room practicality
Comments (13)We have an open shower next to bath for our kids/main bathroom. It works well so far for us. Light and airy bathroom compared to prev layout, guests no longer need to walk past shower and bath to reach toilet/sink. Bath water splashes are contained to the wet area space, easily accessible to aid with hair washing etc. I feel it works well because the ventilation is great (good fan, open not enclosed space, heating vent nearby) heating vent along wall opposite shower also offers warmth when entering/exiting and drying off. Kids don't wash hair frequently so we will have to see how cleaning goes with extra suds/products in future but at this stage we do not get build up on the side of bath etc. Yes, you could get wet assisting bath time if the shower floor hasn't had time to dry, but in our design, one end of the tub is accessible from the dry floor space. You need to consider the incline on the floor for adequate water run off toward the drain/drains, and how this might affect how the bath sits on the floor. A 'back to wall freestanding' bathtub with simple sides would be ideal to aid with cleaning - I imagine that the ledge of a drop in tub would collect splashes from the shower and need to be dried off after use. Hope that helps....See MoreNathalie Scipioni Architects
