Need help decorating the Besser brick walls. Placement of artworks.
Comments (3)If it's a rental be a bit careful about adding holes to the wall. When hanging pictures of any kind don't go too high - around eye level usually works best. For easily moveable and inexpensive ideas think about: using a wide piece of fabric hung using a piece of dowl at each end to create wall art that you can change out quickly and easily. large seagrass matting to cover the floors. look for décor items that are will pick up the current theme and move with you - places like Tree of Life (if you're in Sydney) offer carved boxes for tables. Look at second hand carved teak blanket boxes (more storage and pretty) Think about batik style cushions in blues and greens to add a beachy feel....See MoreWindow size and placement to maximise light?
Comments (7)Thanks for all your suggestions. I love that sunroof, very cool! Definitely beyond our budget though. We have got a combination of windows and stacked sliders onto the alfresco, I've got the sliders coming from the two rooms so that it can open into one large entertaining space as our family grows up - but perhaps it is overkill. It might look like a lot of living space relative to bedrooms but the 'rumpus' room is really a multipurpose study/guest/games room as we have regular house guests. It will work well for us. I love plantation shutters too - definitely in the plan for front of house. I'm thinking discreet blinds for the open plan area currently, but I'll wait until it's all built to ensure its right for the space - so many decisions to make...See Morewhere to put exterior wall lights
Comments (0)We have down lights in the under cover area but not sure where to put wall lights to light the fireplace area and the opposite will be a bbq/outdoor kitchen. And do we need them on the most anterior walls as well? (study and master bed)...See MoreExterior lighting help please.
Comments (1)looks good already and i like the Os but would also want directional spotlightson the outside corner of the alfresco roof and the side of the house and if the undercover coachlights and spotlights were operated separately if would be more comfortable to sit outside without attracting too many bugs to the separate sitting areas...See MoreJohn H
