Is wallpaper really like a tattoo?
Comments (15)I'm not a fan of wallpaper, though I'll admit there are some powder rooms on Houzz with beautiful, two-tone wallpaper that I love. The last time we bought a house we had to choose between two equally desirable, quite similar vintage houses--one with wallpaper on every wall (even in the hallways!) and one with painted walls throughout. In both cases we planned to repaint in colors of our choice, but we bought the house without the wallpaper because it was simply less work to repaint the painted walls than to strip a house full of someone else's tacky, outdated wallpaper. So by all means use wallpaper if you love it and will be in the home for awhile, but don't expect anyone else to appreciate it when you sell. Wallpaper (like patterned fabric) is just too individual a preference to translate easily into someone else's aesthetic....See MoreWould you try temporary wallpaper?
Comments (57)Grab a free A4 sample of our removable wallpaper from here: https://www.thewallstickercompany.com.au/categories/wallpapers/ At Checkout enter "TWPC_HOUZZ" (Find the wallpaper you like and then select the A4 sample option and check out at no cost!) We print to order removable landlord-friendly wallpaper. It's $55/msq for our standard range and we supply it in wall height drops so there's no waste. It's got the adhesive on the back and it sticks gently to flat and textured walls. We've never had a complaint about matching or difficult installing - it can't be stuffed up, it just takes time. It can be repositioned over and over and the edges butt join so it has the high end look of traditional wallpaper. Although it's temporary, it will stay up and look perfect for 10 years +. No nasty surprises with Phototex, it's a really nice product. Email me with questions! jen@thewallpapercompany.com.au...See Morehas anyone painted their house a very light turquoise before?
Comments (8)This room looks delightful Sylvia. I have not specified aqua in any home to date, but often use a soft, celery green on internal walls to bring in calmness and light into a home. I think that you need to love the colour and every time you see it, it makes your heart sing. Then you will never tire of it! Most people go with the "safe" option of a white or off white, but the rule book does not state that one has to have a white interior. Do what feels right for you and trust in your own instincts and forget what general opinion will say....See MoreBrick look wallpaper
Comments (7)If you love the look, why not. Especially given wallpaper is non permanent. My concern would be the pattern could be distracting when you are watching tv... What type of brick look are you thinking of? The whitewashed look, distressed red brick? The wood wallpapers could bring in industrial look also. Something in the grey tones to tie in with your sheers perhaps? [This article[(https://www.houzz.com.au/magazine/5-ways-to-make-a-flat-screen-tv-blend-in-stsetivw-vs~27012107) may be of interest to you. My brother-in-law runs a online photo slide show on the tv when they aren't watching programs. Beautiful photography from around the world. Much more interesting to look at the the black rectangle....See MoreTEMP DUMP
