Are you trying to hide the back/side of the TV from being seen through the glass on the other side? Do you require storage space (hidden behind doors/draws, or not)? Do you have any appliances that need to sit with your tv eg. Hard drive recorder, dvd player etc, game playing machine?

I had a quick google search for spraypainting frosted glass and it's not lights, it's glasses/cups for decorative purposes, but similar idea: http://somethingturquoise.com/2012/06/29/diy-painted-frosted-glass-jars/ I'm not sure whether you'll be able to find a black frosted glass spray, but it looks like somethings do exist!

your dilemma is not quite clear...is this a building with attached buildings on both sides without any option for extra windows...what are the walls and floors made out of and what is the internal size of the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, sunroom and the entry foyer? is it possible to add another roof window above the bathroom to improve ventilation?
