The stone is from YDL Stone called Kalala Shan. I wanted caesarstone calacatta nuvo but that would have broken the bank! This one still has that marble look I wanted but it's actually a warm base more off white, goes well with wood and the trouble I am having is which grey to put it with in the bathrooms! I was thinking light grey with off white...where did you get your tile from?

What a great piece of work! It looks a fantastic space! I also love the garage doors! You are probably already intending but I would suggest that you paint the outside to balance the new doors. Paint the gable, stair rails and trims white and have the weatherboards and brick around the garage doors the same light colour and maybe have the open casement windows cross barred to complete the picture. Hi Rob , You are entering an exciting time with a new home, good luck with it all . Just a couple of suggestions : (1) Any reason you are note considering an architect to be involved ? When chosen carefully they can be very cost effective , plus they will create the unique custom one off that you are after. Their design concepts will go far beyond just what the exterior looks like Rob, they will also consider ( for example) how a skillion roofline has other functional benefits like incorporating high line ( clerestory) windows that will bring fabulous light into the centre of your new home etc. They will also advise on orientation and wind etc etc and lots more . (2) Regardless of whether an architect is involved, I would suggest that you seriously consider getting someone to create a 3D walkthrough of your new home so that you can walk through and around it before you spend your money on construction. It really does let you see the visual effects, plus because the 3D is to scale , it will help you sort out any potential issues with design and /or construction in advance( i.e. saves you time and money during construction ) . The 3D's can be created once you have your plans and elevations completed. You can get the 3D's created fairly cheaply ( a few hundred $'s ) on www.freelancer.com where professionals from around the globe compete for your project . It is money well spent , and you can see the colours and textures in lifelike scenarios , so it takes away the mystery and what if's . Lauren, My opinion is as a garage door supplier in Perth. In the B&D range, the CLASSIC range of Statesman (squares), Grange (rectangles) and Federation (squares) are (IMO) dated and suit faux-Federation look homes not modern homes. The ridges collect dust & grime. Their MODERN Nullabor comes in a woodgrain finish and a smooth finish. AVOID the smooth finish as it shows up any imperfections in the Colorbond steel. The Nullabor with the woodgrain effect is most suited to rendered homes. If you want a bit of detail in your garage door the B&D Seville (4 slats/panel) is what I usually recommend for rendered homes and brick or limestone fronted homes. The slat look designs are supposed to emulate a course of bricks however I have seen installs which cast shadows between the panels. AVOID plastic window inserts in the top panel unless you want to compromise security as they can be punched out. If you want light inside your garage, install a skylight or motion activated light. Another point to note in choosing the colour... standard Colorbond or Dulux powdercoat colours are easily matched should a door panel be accidental damaged by a vehicle. Also, dark colours fade faster than lighter colours. AVOID the B&D "Timber Coat" wood colours as they are a painted finish that can't be replicated if you need to replace a damaged panel. Their new "Knotwood" range of wood colours despite the premium price are powdercoated and baked on and can be replaced if damaged. The Colorbond Caoba and Classic Cedar colours can be replaced if damaged. If you live near the coast, consider the extra cost of having your door and tracks powdercoated to stop corrosion and rust.
