What colour , size, shape, texture rug ?
Comments (3)You have a lot going on texture-wise so I'd probably keep it simple in terms of rug texture or there'll be too much going on at once. Warm would do well in this room though, so that's good! You mention it's away from the light outdoor area, is this photo an accurate representation of the lighting you normally get in this room? So in summary, you might want to have a look at rugs that don't have much texture, and are a bit brighter in colour to help brighten up the room. Below are just a couple of examples of rugs that could work, and one more neutral example....See MoreGetting new sofas -but what colour???
Comments (4)Because there is a lot of timber and dark paint in the room ( which i like) and because it creates a neutral background you could easily takes some risks. The problem with fitted plain and very light fabrics is the risk of stains showing etc. so I would choose a mix and match red ( not a blue red) in leather if you have the money or a blue could be good to match the painted area. Another idea is to have fabric covers in natural fibres like washed linen that can be removed and washed easily. Look at beach house styles for inspiration. Comments (10)Do you have any furniture you are wanting to put in there ? Does any of it have any colour ? I like the light floor colour , the rest let's just say it is a good neutral base . I'd start with a new front door -- a darker varnished ( glossy ) wooden door , or possibly even a blue to reference your outside . Then add colour via furniture ( or at least cushions ) , rugs , and artwork . Again , maybe several different blues would tie in with the floor , but also the exterior . If there are only blue exterior highlights , you may want to go for warmer colour inside -- reds , yellows , oranges -- again , ties in with the floor . To this end , I can't understand why people go with 117 shades of grey and offwhite and wheat -- live a colourful life is my attitude , as long as it is themed haha !...See MoreCouch/rug colour for this space?
Comments (6)Really depends on your style, I would say have a couch that doesnt sit too close to the floor and something with thinner arms, the room doesnt look large so having chunky furniture may not suit the room. Rug go for neutral but textured so it doesnt look completely bland or layer some rugs to add interest but keep the base neutral so you can play with colour....See Moremykky48
