I would Get inspiration from the elements in the rooM that won't be changed, like the carpet. The gunmetal grey sounds nice and gender neutral. For guests, short stays should feel friendly, and have you want to return, I would think hotel and personalize it. I would use a warm grey that will allow for many linen changes, and create a Moody atmosphere by night. BecUse the focus is either the window/ light it can afford the depth of colour. Try dulux exposed elements. If possible position the bed opposite the wardrobe so you can install a tv in it etc create An entertainment hub and still keep the window for view. Floor to ceiling sheer curtains will help the space feel bigger as you seem to have tall things on 2 walls. Good luck. ML Design

If you love it you should keep it. Off white or similar plain fabric sounds great. I would use the chairs as accent pieces in separate rooms and pair the couch with modern/mid century chairs that have clean lines and legs to give a sense of space underneath them. These could be a different accent colour or work back with the same tones as the couch depending on other pieces. You could stain the legs of these to work with the wood tones on your couch. Good luck would love to see the finished room.

I would go for something that complements the chairs. If you try to match it, it will look kind of odd and mismatched.

Desperation. If we can't cut costs we have to sell the house half done which I don't want to consider. Our original builder stopped word at the point we were paid most in advance. And now prices have gone up to complete and we don't have the money to complete to original spec. We need to go to the bare basics and just get it done. My emotions swing between angry and mad, to upset and give up to determined to get the house finished. We are in the HBCF process now and have about 4 - 6 weeks to get the price down. Joinery is back to basics, stone cut where we can and or gone to laminate, no landscaping, Kmart wardrobes, all tapware and door handles, the cheapest possible, curtains will be velcroed material. etc. etc. But flooring is a big cost so I am researching how to cut down that line item.
