What a beautiful parquetry floor, Polly. Just to confirm, is this the one? There is colour tone variation, so do you think you'd prefer light or a darker carpet colour? And do you have a preference for wool or synthetic? Do you want something thick and plush to really sink your feet into, or something low and maybe with texture?

More Carpet pics. Only my only 2 favorite options are shown in the photos. As you can see different spaces = different shades visible. I should add that our staircase and upper floor will be carpeted. Ground floor is mostly tile - only a kids/multi-purpose room and bedroom will be carpeted. These rooms sit next to tiled spaces.

Ideally , it would be good to see photos , to see what other colours you have , such as furniture , art , etc . Logically though , all things being equal , a mid to dark blue should suit , although it is then a bit harder to tie anything else in with -- particularly the sunny colours ( r , o , y ) , greens or browns and the like . So the other option is a charcoal , which isn't warm in itself , but you can add colour easily so the house , not just the floor , has a warm look , and that would be the direction I'd probably take .

Can't decide on carpet colour for our master bedroom. Bed is medium coloured timber. Walls are white with high raked ceiling. Room is 4.1m x 3.6m........ Dark or light? Does carpet in master need to match the other bedrooms?
