I suggest printing off your plan and drawing your furniture on to scale. Allowing for at least a metre between things like the island and table, sofa etc , it will be hard to fit everything in. The room has a lot of doorways etc that need access space. You could perhaps have the dining table in front of the island and then a couch facing the island but is this enough seating? The other thing to consider is what dining seats you have and how much space they take up, both in and out from the table.

I really, really want a big pantry as ive lived with a bottom corner cabinet as my pantry for the last 7 years and its been painful! Thanks for taking the time to rework the plan. Siriuskey - thanks for the compliments! The 3ds are just done in the free version of sketchup, but my partner is a professional draftsman so he has some expertise! The cooktop is just 600 wide. We love the french doors, and know they are probably not the most practical but i think they will give the place the real beach house feel we want. Dr Retro - thank you for your constructive criticism. We have totally reworked the layout, your comments were very practical :-) We do currently just have a single bowl sink in there, unfortunately without putting the sink out on the island i think thats all we can fit. I am trying to squeeze a lot in there.. Currently live with a single bowl and find it ok and also getting a dishwasher so i think ill survive. See below for new ideas roughly planned last night.....Definitely more conventional. Again, any comments appreciated...The dishwasher is between sink/cooktop and there are drawers/cupboards in the inside of the island/peninsula...

I love those benches I have used one as sewing/desk with trestle legs, love it. The following is my idea with timber bench tops and using your cabinets, This would work if you could run the plumbing across to the left,either inside or externally. ,I have moved the sink to allow you to use the 80cm cabinet as your dish rack, the window won;t allow this. Or you could just swap the sink and cooker and use other shelving for the dish rack Back wall R-L 60cm cabinet,cooker,60cm cabinet 800 void for sink,60cm cabinet.fridge. Wall, using the 80cm x 42cm as plate drainer with timber open shelves on both sides, extraction is a simple ceiling extractor fan. I have added a narrow 60cm Island which uses both 40cm at both ends,like the sink there's a void which can have a couple of stools andr rubbish binscan be placed under the sink cheers

I'm no expert but just my thoughts if it was my house - The bedrooms are on the small side, so perhaps think about how they will be used - do your children need space to play or do homework in their rooms? Is the 4th bedroom for guests or will it be used as a home office? In bedrooms 2 and 3 the beds are below the window - are the windows high enough to allow a bedhead/to not lay down with your head against the window? What will be in the main bathroom - shower, bath, single/double vanity? What are you thinking layout wise? I'm confused by the kitchen, especially the pantry access given the corners are blocked by other benches - is it meant to be a walk in pantry or just normal cupboards? The hall is long and narrow and you need to go past all the bedrooms before you get to the living space. Not sure how well this will work, but I've only lived in places where the entry is adjacent to living space. Love the idea of having a separate self contained space for your parents - as others have said bathroom is too far from either bedroom, and the entry near bedroom could be an issue.
