Comments (4)I think that technology can take over a space easily, you are lucky to have acquired all that you need for a real home theatre but in doing so you have lost some family in that space. To counteract that and have the best of both worlds, being a great entertainment hub for your husband to enjoy the footy etc, answell as a nice lounge that you can unwind in at the same time is do-able. Those two windows are a great feature that keep it cosy, but the window treatment just doesn't work with the rooms main function. A viewing hub. Remove the drapes to the floor and replace with a fitted timber Venetian blind, so you can darken the room or direct. The light as necessary to watch the screen, at the same time can open them up when required, then run a low line timber unit wall to wall under the window, it may need to be made but if it's the only thing tou need to do, and will make such a huge difference, it's worth the cost. Have doors perhaps with mesh inserts so you can house the tv equipment, speakers etc, the tall speakers can fit aside the tv itself, and that way you create a bench across the entire wall for your lamps on one end, some picture frames at the other etc, the timber blinds would tie in your unit, and coffee table, declutter the floor, improve light and best of all, add personality while emphasizing your great theatre....See MoreHome theatre size
Comments (8)It is probably a bit narrow for a theatre room. The area that will let it down is from a sound perspective. Placement of speakers is crucial to getting the effect of surround sound. Putting it very simply, too close together and the sound will blend in together. Too far apart and you will get a dead spot. If they're not angled appropriately you will get phasing issues which will cancel out certain sounds. For that depth of room, i would probably recommend about 4.5m wide. On a slightly different not, i find the placement of the laundry rather odd. You will get the noise and vibrations from a washing machine/dryer in the two rooms that you probably least want it in. The other consideration you may want to look at is keeping the rooms that have plumbing on the same side of the house or at least as close together as practical. Keeps building costs down....See MoreHelp, how to arrange living/dining furniture?
Comments (18)Hi! I agree with anniau. Your Living & Dining have heaps of space to furnish. I've designed smaller areas than yours and it was furnished perfectly. It really comes down to the the size of the furnitures you have to be in proportion with the areas minding the general traffic within the areas. Also I would suggest that your opening to the bed hallway relocated to your kid's retreat so you have the opportunity to extend your kitchen and watch the kids while you're in the kitchen :) I would place the fridge to the opposite side as well so it can be easily accessed from your entertaining areas easily. Just my 2 cents. :) I've attached a furnishing sample I did and a marked up plan of your house....See MoreSync Systems
