That would depend on the rest of the soft furnishings, but I would advise you to stay away from pattern and consider a simple neutral linen for the entire space. Or use a woven wood roman shades which come in a million neutral tones and textures.........and use fabrics as pillows etc where it is easy to change your mind.
Kelly, depending on the style and other furnishings of your dining area, living room, and the kitchen if it's adjacent, either fabric could work well. Photographs and a plan of the space showing how the dining room is related to nearby areas would be very, very helpful : ) .
