hi all URGENT in need of colour advice please!!!
Comments (17)Hi Aleta1, youre getting down to the nitty gritty of Interior Design now. Choosing the perfect colour involves addressing many issues...size of your windows, orientation of the house, height of ceilings, size of rooms, purpose for room to name a few. If you have the time I recommend getting a sample pot of full and half strength and try it in a couple of corners of each room. That way you can see how the colour looks at different angles. Good luck....See MoreSome advice please on window treatments in my little cottage, thanks!
Comments (7)Hi MJ, what a sweet cottage. I'd go for a thermal roller blind in the kitchen as it'll allow you to get your views and light, privacy of an evening and help maintain heat inside in winter - they're also easier to keep dusted roman blinds. In the bedroom, I'd go for a double railing with sheers that let light in during the day and then thermal and block out curtains to pull across of an evening. You would be able to pick up continuous thermal or block out curtains at Spotlight/Lincraft fairly cheaply - I like the continuous as you can have your curtains as full as you like). I wouldn't worry about lined curtains again as they're just far heavier and a pain in the butt with the amount of dust that both layers of fabric collect. I've got the thermal continous curtains in our bedrooms and have machine washed them and they were far less trouble when I was hemming them. In terms of thermal efficiency of your windows look at secondary glazing options - Magnetite, Ecoglaze and Justrite off options that you might find worth looking at (beats pulling out windows and replacing them)....See MoreURGENT!! Comments (12)I like Monument because it isn't 'black'. Night Sky is Colorbonds black and I'm not a big fan of it. Looks to bland and lifeless for me. Monument is a Charcoal rather than a grey or a black. Why not use Monument as feature walls inside instead of Domino if you're concerned with it not matching up so well. Dune on cladding and piers would be ok. If you grow tired of the Dune on the piers then they're a cheap and easy change unlike the rest which could be expensive....See MoreWindow advice needed for a coastal home
