What do you suggest for the house colour?
Comments (16)Sorry to dampen your ideas about changing your home but I think it is a beautiful home, in no need of any changes at all, in my opinion! It is a picture perfect home with a lovely low maintenence garden and beautifully presented. I would not have bought the home personally, if I wanted to make the amount of external changes as you are thinking of, perhaps instead, use this home as a stepping stone and buy something already more like what you are dreaming of owning or accept the beautiful home you already have, again in my opinion of course!!...See MoreFamily bathroom colour suggestions?
Comments (8)Hello empressct Good start with your bathroom; strong natural colours for a base. Now the styling!! I agree with the idea of white shutters at the window. You can control the amount of light you require during the day. Cane baskets are very beachy, as are plants in white pots. Maybe a hanging basket in the corner near the window. If you can, have a new timber frame made for the mirror that would add warmth to the room. Fluffy white towels will add luxury - maybe not for the kids!! Enjoy...See MoreSuggestion on the weatherboard colour
Comments (14)I have to agree it was the landscaping and the imbalance of the colours that I noticed. From your additional comment I am not sure how important it is to you, but if you don't get it right a different colour won't work any better than the existing one IMO, and if you are going to replace the windows probably do that first, the different proportions of cladding and glass will change the look too. Btw how high is the railing? I know of people who had to change their railings due not being compliant with modern building codes. If you are having work done on the front you might as well find out about that at the same time and update if necessary....See MoreHelp! Plant/hedge suggestions for a small pathway
Comments (9)Unfortunately it can take a lot longer than 20 years for damage to become evident. And every bit of root left behind if removed, will grow, as the plant also grows from root cuttings. The movement is insidious, but by the time its evident, with above ground roots, the damage has been done. As a professional, I have seen many instances of this occurring. Do a Google search. A good source will confirm my comments. Figs are fine in pots, off the ground. I note that Diggers have them in their garden as a screen - and they look fantastic. They also sell them. Grown a long way from buildings, because the root reach is considerable, and from septic systems, they could be OK. But I personally, as a Horticulturist with significant plant knowledge, would never put them in the ground in my own garden, or for clients. I'm offering this advice to avoid problems for people in the future. This knowledge comes with over 40 years of hands-on and professional gardening experience. Figs should not be put in the ground near structures, garden walls, concrete paths etc....See More6iggy
