Advice for entry foyer
Comments (20)You have a very nice size foyer but to me there are just too many things and too many styles going on. The cabinets look very contemporary, the fixtures and furnishings are more traditional and the stained glass in the doors adds another element. My thought is that you may want to try to simplify a little. If a more traditional look is what you are going after I suggest that you embellish the cabinets to give them a more transitional look and possibly consider replacing the brightly colored stained glass in the door and sidelights with simple clear beveled glass panels to give it a more classic updated look....See MoreUpdate: foyer design
Comments (15)Thank you everyone for the advice and input. Well, I guess the spice jars must go! I'll have to go out and look for a vase to go there. I really wanted a console on the wall paper wall, but after renovating our kitchen, funds have been redirected, and thus limited. I'm stuck with the round table for now. But painting it is definitely an option. I'm thinking a duck egg color (same as the wall paper). I actually really like the cow hide, maybe the layered look isn't working. I'll try it without the rug underneath....See MoreWill autumn inspire you to change your wall decor?

Comments (5)The first option with open to dining entrance gives you much bigger storage room. The second option gives you less space because it is a walkthrough from the garage and that will take up space. You will be using it as a storage room, not a “mud room” from your description of items going into this area. because the open entry is quite a large space, I would make the entry hall only half of the length at 2.47m wide, then narrow it down to 1.8m wide at the dining end. Enlarging the storage room as shown on this sketch. You could fit out the storage with shelving for suitcases, camping gear, Christmas trees, spare clothing, shoes etc etc. This plan does not change any existing plumbing on your design....See More- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years ago
