Comments (7)The roller blind with sheer curtains will give a soft look and block out the light while you sleep. The floor to ceiling curtains probably won't look as nice due to your small space and the cornice so just above the window and a little wider than the window to make it look larger. The bed head either upholstered or timber needs to be light in colour so it doesn't dominate the room (the timber will be easier to clean) The design of the bedside tables depend on what you use them for but don't have too many items stored on them. The light also depends what you use it for (needs to be more direct if you use it to read). The addition of a large mirror will add the illusion of space and luxury. As you have a large bed in a smaller room just make sure the linen is not dominating the whole room. Good luck :)...See MoreMaster bedroom colour ideas-room faces west (slightly south) in Qld

This is where photos don't always do justice to decorating, you can see a room that looks amazing but it doesn't always transfer to another room, resulting in disappointment. I love dark colours in dining rooms too, I think they create a lovely intimate atmosphere for dining. I've done the dark colours in bedrooms too for that intimate feeling, but I've now moved on to lighter colours to open the house up more and I really enjoy the freshness of them, the rooms seem to look a lot cleaner. My soft aqua lounge room was created from years of living with the sun and the heat it generated in the room, often making it unbearable to be in. Since I've done it in the aqua, people walk into the house and just want to be in the room and don't want to leave, because it is both cool and restful....See MoreNeed advice finishing master bedroom
Comments (7)I love your art too! It is stunning, I completely understand you desire to retain it. What would I do? Very simple- I'd put the art on the opposite wall you are trying to fill and leave the wall above the bed blank (it already has a 'feature' colour on it?). I'd put an organza sheer on the bay window, I can't quite make out your colours, perhaps an organza with a slight shimmer to blend with the existing wall colour (not the feature colour though)...See MoreLuxurious master bedroom transformation
Comments (5)So much more impact! Particularly at night. Great idea to remove the side window as there would be plenty of daylight from the French doors....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
