Hi Addy W, We put weed mat under the pebbles which will help to suppress weeds. I take your point about the olive tree littler though they make good feature trees for our climate. Yes a leaf blower is handy for blowing the leaves. Thanks for taking an interest in my work.

My money would go on putting in some gate and fence either side of front of house to secure yard, then spend rest of your limited budget at front. Path to door also essential for young family plus you don’t want dirt being traipsed in during inspections. Look at what is being done in the area, kerb appeal very important.

a cabinet maker, tiler and glazer can custom make a new shower with corner door and a built in wall hung counter for a small offsett and underbench washer (no need for doors as there's only enough space under the sink for a waste bin) and use a mirror doored 20-30cm deep wall cabinet for storage ..check out small stainless steel bar sinks for the narrowest sink to fit within less than 40cm wide to make sure there's enough space for the front loading washer

you will need a carpenter to add a new frame to extend the length (and you should also check with local council to make sure teh extension is legal) and the doors are simple to move but i would ask for a garage door specialist to inspect the site and advise about best way to make a new support frame but is there any option or advantage for extending the back of the garage so you don't have to move the front?? post a plan of the house and garage with photos to invite suggestions...but what do you mean by a double front opening door??
