Jeepers this room needs help. One of those curved lamps would work well in the corner, or a cluster of small pendants. A round or rectangular table at the left hand end of the sofa with a vase of flowers and framed photographs would give a 'come-hither' appeal. A coffee table with art books and decorative items would be better than the round poof. A complete change in cushion covers to bring the whole place to life and more artwork on the walls. An interesting chair would work well too. Happy thoughts.

Well done, it looks so much more like a room that is lived in, love your coloured cushions, they give a lift to the room. The single hanging behind the lounge needs to be replaced with something larger and lower, remember when hanging things just look straight ahead as a measurement and that should give you a better position so long as you're not 10ft tall I would change the light over the table to some lighter and perhaps larger and remove the two pictures, as you can see the light does and will always stop the view of these. It's better not to hang things on every wall. You also need to add a reading light for the arm chair, simple 70"s style floor or table lamp (on side board next to armchair) Good news!! Spotlight is having a 30% off most things sale, you could check out the blinds, white wide slat timber venetians for the two windows side by side and possibly for your sun room. Possibly add a tall potted plant or preferably a Bunnings French style very small round metal table and 2 chairs, $30? lovely for breakfast and a great view out to the garden and beautiful stone wall. Very happy for you not having to give away your wonderful furniture, the rug and it's stripes helps to widen the space, as you say a couple of small table/ foot stools would complete the room cheers

Before replacing your curtains as this can be quite expensive for such a large window, if they are in good condition, add a band of extra fabric to the bottom in what ever suits you, your existing curtain track can then be moved up to the ceiling for good looking full length curtains without the large round eyelets, could save you a lot of money, I would look at replacing/removing the sheers cheers

Yes, Ann I think this room needs a lamp in the corner for extra lighting and also height and I would love a piece or two of wall decor but not necessarily a canvas or print. The room looks bare but isn't ...it's actually quite small by today's standards. Long and thin. I know what I want....just can't find it LOL. At the moment my attention is diverted to replacing my kitchen benchtop with black granite, so the lounge room is on the back burner for the next month or so. The furniture wood is Australian oak, and the lower pieces are black stain rather than paint, so the wood grain is still evident. The tops are distressed and burnished, but still sealed. Lovely quality, (weigh a ton!) and made in Australia. Bought at The SofaShop. We have always had Aussie oak. We were looking for something much lighter, but both fell in love with this....the walls are painted in hog bristle 1/4.
