No longer is it acceptable for a simple exhaust unit, rather it must now be ducted to external air. So your range hood must be flued either through your roof space or via a horizontal duct to an external wall. It must be installed and signed off, and your house insurance will require your sign off document if your house insurance is to cover damage due to fire, or you will find yourself in a predicament. The provision for installing a range hood above a gas cooktop is a minimum placement of 650mm above your cooktop, and 605 for an electric hob. Including induction. Hope this helps. seems a bit narrow, it must suck pretty good, but it might look cooler with a flared out round skirt on it, (and maybe a hoop led light round the edge). would be good if it was combined with other round/cylindrical elements. bar stools might be a good place to start. just seems too out of place in that space. try it next to a classic kitchen swing door with the round window. ranges on islands (and peninsulas) are a dumb trend anyway, although if you like dealing with 360 degree splatter and positioning dangerously hot workspaces in the centre of your work area, all power to ya.

Schweigen put out 2 designs that are flush to the ceiling. They run about $7,000+. The 4 panel one is 2M wide and other other one is 1300. I like the fact that it would leave the space entirely open and you could create the WOW with something else that would be seen from the entrance.

Yes we have an AEG one installed. I Love it. It was the only choice for us as it’s placed in front of a window. It works great takes all our cooking fumes away. You need to make sure you have space between your roof beams to fit it.
