1300 is ample, had that in last house, but didn't have a sink in island, now I do so I actually like 1200 , seems to work well for me, but depends how many will use that area and how.
(Washing up..someone needs to walk past, etc)
Only 2-4 live here now depending on Uni holidays.

Reduce to 1200 or 1300mm
This will give more room in your dining/lounge area. As part of this area is the corridor to outside.

Agree. Reduce a bit by moving Island.

Sink by servery window. They can get a drink.. Or u hand them a drink without them coming inside!

If in island, its always messy unless you are ocd. And they come into house to get drink....

I have 1250 and it is perfect. Have drawers opposite dishwasher so I can un load clean crockery straight in to drawers.

1200mm is plenty.

I enjoy a 1200mm separation too. Try drawing on to your plans those little to-scale ‘top down view’ human figures that the architects use. I find it really helps visualise the workability of tighter spaces.

ok, based on your feedback we have reduced kitchen isle to 1250mm. The kitchen island is now 1400mm wide, 600mm deep cupboards at the front, 300mm deep cupboards at the back and 300mm overhang We have increased scullery and laundry by 100mm. What do you think? Is island too chunky? or is it ok? Thank you.

hmm, just reread @dreamer. If we pushed it back, do you think it will look funny not lining up flush to end of kitchen.

No, and it would be better. Left as is, the people that sit at the island, will be sitting in the walkway, and the space in the dining and lounge, being only 4340 wide, would be compromised.

It is not just the width of the island bench, you need to also take into account the room taken up by people sitting at the island. Could be, Maybe another 500mm into your lounge and dining area. Shown on your plan as theatre?

another vote for 1300mm

@dreamer will make kitchen isle 1200mm and adjust kitchen island total width to island 1200mm leaving 200mm potential space to living/dining?

I had a 1200 deep island by 1800 long.

Just an fyi... You have to walk around to clean it. I know you are having cupboards by stools, I did not, but now I have 1 met deep I can reach from one side.

Just easier and quicker on one side re cleaning but you are having cupboards so you just have to reach.
