You could mount a TV which can swing out from the entry wall from the main house, or on the one opposite one near the back sliding doors, or on the floor, in the corner. Depending if you need storage on the back wall, you could have your lounge at the back of the room, or have a walkway between the back wall and the lounge. An easy moving lounge is great for moving into different positions around the room. I like the idea of the bar as a drinks trolley. Actually furniture on wheels is great for rearranging whenever you like. I usually have wheels mounted to furniture as I live on my own and it just makes it so much easier. Another idea, is a buffet across the wall of the three windows and a tele positioned placed above or on where the brick wall is in the middle of the three windows, and the buffet can act as a bar and whatever else.

I was a renter and it forces you and enables you to be more creative! But it looks like your taste is for textured, handcrafted items and this would look amazing in that space and I hope you continue that mix of textural/ethnic and clean industrial. Youve got got lots of wall space to play with, and doing some features on the walls plus a rug on the floor or sideboard and vignette will delineate the areas rather then it looking like a long thoroughfare and ensure you're taking advantage of using all that space. It'll also add interest and soften the warehouse feel nicely. Some ideas: A group of 3 mirrors along that long wall will break up the expanse and reflect the light from the end windows further into the house. I love the IKEA Stave rectangular mirrors, in a row of 3, portrait layout. Nice fine light timber frames and a super-stylish inexpensive wall statement. Ikea has just launched a range of rattan pieces which are super stylish and inexpensive and if your budget allows, there's a rattan sideboard that's amazing and would look stunning in your space. Plus a couple of their cheap sisal rugs look stylish, delineate spaces and soften the warehouse feel. Cotton On also have some beautiful homewares, great throw rugs etc that would suit this style. Some groups of Kmart pots or hip baskets with succulents from either markets or Bunnings. Always stylish, I love white phaelenopsis orchids and you can now buy them cheaply from IKEA and some supermarkets. They look beautiful and add height with a little vignette of a frame, candle or some favourite books. Tolix style chairs and stools can be picked up very cheaply from KMart or the big barn furniture stores. if it's your style, you can pick up ceramics cheaply from big Asian supermarkets / catering stores. vases, jars and canisters, either blue on white floral, all whites or beautiful celadon greens and ochre yellows grouped together look amazing. Perhaps a wall hanging from Society 6 or red bubble are super cheap and high impact, even on the wall above a bed. The cushions are super cheap too. h&m have great inexpensive but really tasteful homewares, including textiles, I rarely walk out empty handed! i think it's only in Melbourne, but mrp home have some great cushions similar to your gorgeous rug that aren't expensive. They may ship online? Also Zara Home have some lovely things that aren't too expensive. You can order online too. Definitely junk shops / eBay 2nd hand you can pick up some great inexpensive feature pieces especially cane / rattan, saucer chairs etc. i always found storage hard in rentals but how cool is this idea: its going to sound cheesy, but I imagine having your home destroyed and moving would be so hard so how about printing out a whole lot of treasured photos and good memories and doing a gallery wall, or even cooler, taping them to the wall in a grid. And finally IF you can't save your beautiful rug, if there's a part you can salvage could you put it in a beautiful big A3 white frame? It would look amazing and be a nice memory? best of luck! Hi, use the cat as inspiration because its colours are beautiful - (a black white and tan rug would add a little wow) and its hair will blend in too. Next just add in small touches of a green you like and more of the base colours in rugs, throws, cushions etc. As for furniture if you follow decor trends it is now the thing to NOT have matching furniture sets in the bedroom but the trick is to link everything through colour. I suggest a picture rest shelf (Bunnings) running along the back wall above the bed at eye level. Pictures (and a mirror) and bits and bobs are then on one level, look intentionally placed, keep things tidy and out of reach of little hands and you can mix and swap as seasons and events change. Plants yes, they give colour and life, then a bit of wicker/rattan or other texture in plant bases, a chair or foot stools at the end of the bed. Some nice green glass vases or candle holders etc. etc. Easy changes that allow you to save for when you want to do your big reno. I would spend your big money getting rid of the strip lighting above the bed and adding nice floaty sheer curtains.
