This project involved a section of flooring to be replaced. On the left hand side is the existing old Jarrah and on the right hand side is the new jarrah flooring which was recently laid. The colour variation is huge and I am seeking information on how to correct the colour variation.
That’s such a weird outcome. The job looks high quality, the joins and evenness is top notch. A couple of the boards tone in but the mismatch in colours is so out there. Was this what you expected? As above, a full resand of the full room is needed as a starting point.
It looks like the floor has been re sanded and coated.replacing any timber and blending with existing timber can has its problems as the species may be the same but likely sourced from different areas& age of tree can likely have a different colour & grain particularly when put side by side. Until it’s sanded and coated is the only way to see alike the timber species are.
