Hi Leigh, If it were me, I would consider speaking with a professional designer. I believe that designers will do consulting work for a reasonable fee. Reason being, I don't think you will find one color to swap out all the purple. For instance, the purple downspouts would be better white, if the gutters are white. If the gutters are brown or another color, you might choose that color. Do you like the baby blue? Do you like how much baby blue you have on your house? You may find that the French doors would look good white, while the front door would look great black, hunter green, midnight blue, red, or another "statement" color (almost anything will be better than the purple) that contrasts against the cream house. The previous owners were most likely looking to accent the cream and cut it a bit with the color, but somewhat missed the mark for your tastes (mine, too). A professional designer will help you coordinate colors and tone down how much color is used. This person will help pick out colors that you will love and will make you feel happy when you look at your home. Changing the paint will work wonders on your home, but you want to make sure that you don't keep one of the colors simply because it is there. Another consideration for color is the type of house style and geographic location. Colors that look great in a beach setting may not work well in the mountains. The consulting fee that you pay will be money well spent and will help give you piece of mind. Start to notice what colors you like on a house and which colors you don't like. Just remember. we buy our own paint and our tradesman paints it on...You have every right to expect him to use the products you want but i would ask why he prefers a particular brand and insist that unless he can make sure that the colour is exactly matched he needs to change brands (or you may need to change painters) why not check directly with your local specialist paint shop to compare the colour, the differences in the brands in quality and price....if your painter has quoted on the whole job including paint he may be getting a trades discount for using his preferred paint but if you only have to pay for his labour you might pay more for your choice of paint but you will have exactly what you want

Hello Queenslander! There are lots of options for wall lights. Has the builder made allowance for wall lights in the cavity? Or has he only made allowance for a recessed or flushmount ceiling light? And now that it's all framed and lined, you are probably on a tight timeframe? Have a look at flush mount ceiling lights for a raked ceiling at Fat Shack Vintage. But get the correct dimensions first and you'll probably need it to gimbal on the batten, so that it can be mounted properly on the ceiling. Alternatively, if you are looking for something a little more modern for wall lights try the brand Nordlux, available from Milton Lighting and other places in Brisbane. But you will get about 70,000 hours out of a good LED downlight - that's about 8 years without ever turning it off! Lighting is tricky! Good luck.

Did you put them in water for a couple of weeks to grow roots? If not they are probably just wilting while energy is directed to the roots. You might want to take a few out of their pots and put in water. I would persist - don’t chuck them out just yet. Keep them out of direct sunlight.
