The interwar property was transformed into a long-term family home that celebrates lifestyle and connection to the owners’ much-loved garden. Prioritising quality over quantity, the crafted extension adds just 25sqm of meticulously considered space to our clients’ home, honouring Dieter Rams’ enduring philosophy of “less, but better”. We reprogrammed the original floorplan to marry each room with its best functional match – allowing an enhanced flow of the home, while liberating budget for the extension’s shared spaces. Though modestly proportioned, the new communal areas are smoothly functional, rich in materiality, and tailored to our clients’ passions. Shielding the house’s rear from harsh western sun, a covered deck creates a protected threshold space to encourage outdoor play and interaction with the garden. This charming home is big on the little things; creating considered spaces that have a positive effect on daily life.

This was a kitchen makeover on a budget. Tasked to update an old kitchen for resale we kept the old old cabinet carcass's and even tiles but replaced the cabinet doors, panels, bench top and appliances. A bright and charming basement kitchen creates a coherent scheme with each colour complementing the next. A white Corian work top wraps around grey silk finished lacquered cupboard doors and draws. The look is complete with hexagonal terracotta floor tiles that bounce off the original brick work above the oven adding a traditional element.

Modern kitchen renovation within a pre-war era home in Mosman. The existing room was extended to enlarge the kitchen space whilst also providing the opportunity to improve natural lighting. The overall layout of the kitchen remains the same with the exception of a large scullery/pantry at one end and minor layout optimisations.

Hand made mosaic artistic tiles designed and produced on the Gold Coast - Australia. They have an artistic quality with a touch of variation in their colour, shade, tone and size. Each product has an intrinsic characteristic that is peculiar to them.

Set within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood. At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework. A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.
