Como Forest Home

A difficult site in a bush fire flame zone with unstable ground conditions and a watercourse bisecting the site. The building introduces the site in an architectural procession through the landscape, providing an opportunity to stroke the base of an angophra, cross the creek, catch a slice of view through the canopy under-storey, revisit the angophra at its canopy base, re-cross the creek on the elevated bridge & finally meet with the panorama beyond the site. The eastern rooms flame with relected light from the sandstone scarp above and the western rooms move with subtle soft light filtered through the trees retained with careful siting.
