Downsizing to a smaller house after the children had left, this couple were seeking seclusion, privacy and a warm and inviting home in which they could relax and entertain. The house they found was perfect but in need of an update.

The brief was to remodel the kitchen, pantry and guest bathroom, design joinery and decorate the living areas on the lower level of the house.

Our clients had a penchant for two things: contemporary Danish design and Aboriginal art, of which they had quite a collection. We married Danish influences with indigenous motifs and and chose a fairly monochromatic palette of warm greys, black and white, overlaid with textural wallpaper, window treatments and soft furnishings. The timber floors were resurfaced and continued throughout the kitchen and dining area and on the staircase leading to the upper level.

The bifold doors open up to a north facing terrace so that this couple have ample options to relax or entertain inside or outside all year round.
