Forest Hill Extension
Our clients' house was perfect for a young couple, when bought 17 years ago. Two children, a dog and two guinea pigs later and the family had well and truly outgrown the place. The plan was obvious … to extend ... but on a small block, the key was minimising the size of the extension whilst maximising the use of the existing space.
The solution was to convert one of the kid’s bedrooms into an additional living space come guest room. Extending the back of the house to accommodate 2 new bigger bedrooms, a new bathroom and larger laundry has given them a smarter layout and updated fixtures. The biggest change to their old house was the extension of the main living area and dining space, which were far too small for a family of four. The new layout delivers a larger, open plan living, dining and kitchen space with piles of space and built in storage. And don’t forget the new deck which provides outdoor entertaining.
