I love the look of those mirrors with the lights and dearly wanted one. However on a recent trip to Paris, the apartment we rented had these mirrors and as much I wanted to love them (there were two) I just couldn't because neither of them gave enough light to even pluck a stray hair - even my husband complained that he couldn't see properly to shave! The bathrooms were both windowless. Was it just a case of dull wattage or a manufacturer decision? Because if it is dull wattage, I still want one... or two or three.

The other gripe I have is this trend for hanging vanities without enough storage for towels, face washers, or hair dryers, straighteners, brushes, combs, hair ties, etc or even cleaning supplies and toilet paper. Where do people put those things? please don't tell they are not stored in the bathroom. I have been to three different stores to find long vanities (2 basin ones) and they were nearly all hanging. Where do I have to go to find a vanity which has drawers and cupboards? Or do I have to get them made for me... a prospect which sounds expensive.

Hi linaath2000, where are you based? The type of mirrors you are after sound like the ones we manufacture :) From what you have described, if you would like a mirror better suited for makeup application or manscaping, have a look at a frontlit mirror. Backlit mirrors are more for an ambiance, not practicality, and don’t offer the same lighting that frontlit mirrors do. A good option would be to find a mirror with a full border of lights if you struggle with lighting, as your face will be totally emitted from all angles. Having lighting emitted into your face front on will give you an accurate depiction of how your face will look in daylight, so you can evenly match your makeup without any overhead shadows or accidentally applying too much makeup in poor lighting! If you are based in Australia, have a look at our website www.Remer.com.au or give us a call 03 9706 6663 we can help you out! Thanks, Hollie Remer Pty Ltd.
