The Living Room needed to be multi-purposed. The client wanted it to provide casual study space for the whole family while allowing for formal entertainment. As in many recently built "traditional" homes, the spaces were ample, and so the room could be appointed in a way that allowed for both. The furnishings serve as an informal room divider. A mixture of material finishes, custom upholstered seating, custom casework (including the lovely window bench) and silk Roman shades fit out the room to be welcoming for both informal family and formal entertainment use.
