Inspiration for an expansive country master bathroom in Philadelphia with blue tile, white walls, a drop-in tub, porcelain tile and porcelain floors.

This luxurious spa like master bath is essentially and indoor outdoor room. The limestone floors and shower tower keep this space cool in this warm tropical paradise on the Big Island of Hawaii. I was inspired by the intersection where sand meets water for the vanity. Soft light wood with the grain on the horizontal meets a 6" glass counter. The weight of this glass is supported by steel reinforcements throughout the back wall. The irregular rectangle shaped glass mosaic in the shower was applied vertically so the lines of the grout follow the drops of water...like a tropical storm. This light and airy guest bathroom was perfectly brought together with the combination of the blue glass tile and patterned light blue wallpaper. The custom vanity fit the space in order to provide function and design.

I designed this contemporary custom vanity to coordinate with the mahogany used throughout the house. In this master bath remodel, we removed the standard builder grade jetted tub and tub deck to allow for a more open concept. We provided a large single person soaking tub with new wainscot below the panoramic windows and removed the traditional window grills to allow for a clear line of sight to the outside. Roman blinds can be lowered for more privacy. A beautiful chrome and black drum chandelier is placed over the soaking tub and co-exists wonderfully with the other fixtures in the room. The combination of chrome and black on the fixtures adds a little glam to the simplified design.

A guest bath in a vintage home is updated with classic blue and white Carrara Marble surfaces. An awkwardly placed jetted tub is replaced with a walk in shower and tiled in Blue Carrara Marble. The custom designed marble vanity complements the formality and charm of the home. Aged mirrored sconces , a gracefully shaped mirror and luxurious Polished Nickel plumbing fixtures add to the old-fashioned inviting elegance. The homeowners now enjoy their favorite color in a stunning setting. They chose the original oil painting to complement the palette and are absolutely thrilled with this "Classic Beauty".
