This hall bathroom renovation was created from a tiny little nursery. We designed the bathtub to go in the back of the space where the plumbing was located but had to get really creative for ensuring privacy (with a view). So, we installed a partially frosted glass door that allowed flexibility to open and clean but still protected the historic wooden windows. It also allows for a beautiful view of the trees in the front yard while also providing privacy when taking showers.

White and blue are a classic design combination and we felt done in this fresh way made this room work for the children and family guests. The dark blue glass tile is a fun accent but will look classic for years. The colourful accessories are perfect for the children and are contemporary enough to appeal to adults as well. White tiles, fixtures and cabinetry makes this space feel larger than it’s actual footprint. The white also helps keep it light and airy. Additional lighting was added in the tub area for evening tub time and showers too. The built-in niche keeps essentials handy. The additional counter space and cabinet add storage as well. This simultaneously elegant and relaxed Tuscan style home on a secluded redwood-filled property is designed for the easiest of transitions between inside and out. Terraces extend out from the house to the lawn, and gravel walkways meander through the gardens. A light filled entry hall divides the home into public and private areas.

The materials we chose draw inspiration from (and balances) contemporary aesthetics and the jubilant energy we experience during our younger years. We created a long step and a long bench to provide seating for the parents while bathing the child. Vanity and concealed storage niche are spaces for towels and toiletry. The glass tiles hue harmonizes very well with grey toned floors and remaining walls resulting in a one of a kind delicate space.

Operable shutters on the tub window open to reveal a view of the coastline. The boys' bathroom has gray/blue and white subway tile on the walls and easy to maintain porcelain wood look tile on the floor.
