The Great Falls Studio is an addition that serves as an art studio for the owner. The owner wanted a very modern design but also wanted it to fit in to the existing homes architecture. The studio is constructed with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) for a very efficient building envelope. We also replaced the homes HVAC system with a geothermal heat pump and reinsulated the existing home. The home features a roof top deck and a new sunroom off the existing kitchen on the second floor. There is a spiral steel stair leading from the deck to the new landscaped yard. The deck incorporates custom made light poles that can swing to light the deck or the patio. The light poles also allow a shade fabric to be hung over the deck in the summer to provide a cool outside sitting area.
