We transformed this barely used Sunroom into a fully functional home office because ...well, Covid. We opted for a dark and dramatic wall and ceiling color, BM Black Beauty, after learning about the homeowners love for all things equestrian. This moody color envelopes the space and we added texture with wood elements and brushed brass accents to shine against the black backdrop.

Antique & Art Exchange
This room was done by Scot Meacham Wood for the "Antiques in Modern Design" project. This office uses a 19th century Chinese coromandel screen as a backdrop for a midcentury glass dining table refashioned as a desk. The red lacquered Chinese Chippendale style armchair adds a pop of color to the otherwise subtle colors in the screen. On the desk is a contemporary print bringing out the colors in the pattern rug. In front of the print is a 19th century portrait of a gentleman. The modern lamp used as a desk lamp with brass shade provides additional lighting on the workspace.

As a rental unit, this apartment came with peachy yellow walls and tan carpeting. We started this project with a fresh coat of paint throughout, giving the space a more modern color palette. Next up was to define the different spaces (dining, living, and work areas) within a large open floorplan. We achieved this through the use of rugs and strategic furniture placements to keep the different spaces open but separate.

Add value and utility to small spaces by building vertically. There are always things you need to hang on to but don't need everyday. Stash them fashionably up high! This tight, otherwise drab little throw-off closet by the entry is vibrantly transformed into a workday getaway. Cory Holland Photography

Progressive Design Build
An existing unused formal living room was converted into the new home office, also to be used as a guest room. To create this home office space, we had to build a new interior wall, designed with glass doors and a transom window making the room light and bright and perfectly functional. Custom built-ins were designed into the space to house all office supplies, open shelving, and a storage closet for guests.
