La cuisine, élément principal de cette pièce à vivre, a fait l’objet d’une étude approfondie en partenariat avec la propriétaire de l’appartement. Entièrement réalisée sur mesure, elle s’étend sur une longueur totale de 5,40 mètres. Cette longueur importante nous a demandé de réfléchir à plusieurs astuces pour l'alléger visuellement et éviter d’avoir un sentiment de « bloc » aux dimensions disproportionnées. Nous avons opté pour une couleur dominante identique à celle des murs pour fondre littéralement les éléments dans le décor. Toute la hauteur sous plafond disponible a été aménagée pour donner l'illusion que la cloison a simplement été avancée. L'idée était de rendre la cuisine la plus invisible possible, tout en apportant de la chaleur et du relief pour éviter toute monotonie. Les lignes choisies pour la cuisine et la salle à manger sont tendues et symétriques autant que possible afin d’apporter un équilibre avec les formes arrondies très présentes de l'appartement. Seuls quelques clins d’œil à ces courbes sont apportés par des éléments ponctuels de décoration comme la suspension circulaire ou les dossiers des chaises du coin repas.
