This sleek and chic pastel blue kitchen project is a stylish German kitchen with a touch of raspberry. This project has been designed and built for a husband and wife in Fernhurst, West Sussex, who loves to entertain. The wife is also a professional baker, so she was very clear about the space she wanted to create. The renovation goal was a kitchen with enough space for creating baked goods and socialising. Additionally, it must have a clear boundary so that guests can circulate around the rest of the room without coming into the central cooking zone. To turn this idea to life, we built a long peninsula that provides plenty of workspace for baking and ample storage for all of the client's baking supplies. We used Nolte's Feel range in Platinum Grey for the cabinetry and incorporated a LeMans corner mechanism for the tambour and larder units to maximize storage space. The 560 metal tab pull handles finish off the look and completes the kitchen's sleek, modern aesthetic. The worktops are from Classic Quartz in Alaska Quartz, a marble-effect worksurface that complimented the grey Nolte doors. To add a pop of colour and liven up the room, we opted for a glass raspberry pink backsplash that blends seamlessly with the sleek and chic theme of the space. This contemporary kitchen was also designed with tea and coffee lovers in mind. We built a tea and coffee station using our Matrix 900 cabinetry, which is the perfect height for making coffee. Floating shelves are included for additional storage of tea and coffee supplies. Appliances from AEG, Neff, and Elica provide the much-needed functionality to the space, while Franke sinks and taps add the finishing touches. Overall, this modern kitchen is light and airy with a touch of pink for a bit of fun and personality.

Knocking through between the existing small kitchen and dining room really opened up the space allowing light to flood through. As the new room was quite long and narrow, a small breakfast bar peninsular was incorporated into the design along with a feature tall bank of framed units that help to visually shorten the space and connect both areas. Painting the tall units in Fired Earth Rose Bay gave the owner free range to indulge her love of pink in the glass pink and gold splashback behind the induction hob.

Farmhouse Kitchen in Great Bealings

We had the privilege of transforming the kitchen space of a beautiful Grade 2 listed farmhouse located in the serene village of Great Bealings, Suffolk. The property, set within 2 acres of picturesque landscape, presented a unique canvas for our design team. Our objective was to harmonise the traditional charm of the farmhouse with contemporary design elements, achieving a timeless and modern look. For this project, we selected the Davonport Shoreditch range. The kitchen cabinetry, adorned with cock-beading, was painted in 'Plaster Pink' by Farrow & Ball, providing a soft, warm hue that enhances the room's welcoming atmosphere. The countertops were Cloudy Gris by Cosistone, which complements the cabinetry's gentle tones while offering durability and a luxurious finish. The kitchen was equipped with state-of-the-art appliances to meet the modern homeowner's needs, including: - 2 Siemens under-counter ovens for efficient cooking. - A Capel 90cm full flex hob with a downdraught extractor, blending seamlessly into the design. - Shaws Ribblesdale sink, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal. - Liebherr Integrated tall fridge, ensuring ample storage with a sleek design. - Capel full-height wine cabinet, a must-have for wine enthusiasts. - An additional Liebherr under-counter fridge for extra convenience. Beyond the main kitchen, we designed and installed a fully functional pantry, addressing storage needs and organising the space. Our clients sought to create a space that respects the property's historical essence while infusing modern elements that reflect their style. The result is a pared-down traditional look with a contemporary twist, achieving a balanced and inviting kitchen space that serves as the heart of the home. The black and grey cabinets are finished in Fenix - a beautiful super matt nano-technology material, very hard wearing and any scratches can be removed by ironing the doors! It’s amazing and so easy to keep clean and smudge free (just a wipe over with a wet cloth!). A 3 metre long waterfall kitchen island in Ceasarstone, Home Connect Siemens appliances throughout and a Quooker hot water tap complete this contemporary modern kitchen which we are all a little bit in love with ❤️

EARTHY, MODERN AND INDIVIDUAL We combine modern and natural in this project to create the perfect kitchen design. Our clients wanted a contemporary design and clean lines for their new kitchen, but still wanted it to feel homely and welcoming. To achieve this look we used the Roma J-groove handleless kitchen from our Masterclass range, in Olive for the wall units and Terracotta Sunset for the island. The worktops, from Caesarstone, completed the furniture, in Misty Carrara and Mayfield Oak.

1. What Makes a Good Kitchen Design, and Why is it Important?

For starters, you want to find a balance between aesthetics and function. You may have heard of the ‘kitchen work triangle’, which refers to the space between your fridge, sink and stove. You want everything within easy reach when you’re working in the kitchen and look beautiful at the same time. It’s a good idea to take note of both when browsing our photo gallery.

2. Consider Your Space to Determine Your Kitchen Layout

Firstly, consider the space you have, and the limitations that come with it. Do you have a small kitchen and need to maximise your workspace and storage? Can you allow yourself some more space and a big island with seating? Are you designing your kitchen from scratch or renovating an existing design? Which appliances do you already own and what are their measurements? Are there windows you need to take into consideration when planning cabinets? How do kitchen, living and dining areas connect? Depending on your space and needs, you want to use a shape that suits you. U, G, or L-shaped kitchen, with or without island or peninsula? Know your dimensions, plan cabinetry carefully and consider the placement of your appliances. You don’t want to end up with a finished design, only for your significant other to question where the fridge is supposed to go. Consider from the start where your fridge, oven, microwave and sink goes to save yourself from starting again from scratch - remember the kitchen work triangle! You also want to plan the layout of your cabinets. Maybe you’re planning for a pantry and can do with less storage space in your kitchen, so that your design can be one without upper or lower cabinets for a different look. A corner cabinet can be a smart storage solution if you want to keep the look clean and simple.

3. Decide on a Kitchen Style, But Don’t Forget Practicality

You want the style of your kitchen to reflect your personality and taste. Consider what your cooking style is for a start - Italy is known for its cuisine, so italian kitchen designs are generally popular.
