Double islands give flexibility for cooking work space as well as "art" space for a family's young children. The counter top was stain and glue resistant and still elegant. This counter is Silestone. The selected the Cygnus in the suede finish for the two islands and the Helux for the surrounding counter tops. Storage is important, so a large pantry was incorporated as well as a mud room for coats and accessories. A bar area was also created for parties along with a wine refrigerator, plenty of glass storage and a double pull-out trash can. Open shelves in that area break up the wall of glass cabinets, giving the kitchen an airy feel. Stacy Zarin Goldberg Photography

This kitchen originally had a long island that the owners needed to walk around to access the butler’s pantry, which was a major reason for the renovation. The island was separated in order to have a better traffic flow – with one island for cooking with a prep sink and the second offering seating and storage. 2″ thick mitered honed Stuario Gold marble countertops are accented by soft satin brass hardware, while the backsplash is a unique jet-cut white marble in an arabesque pattern. The perimeter inset cabinetry is painted a soft white. while the islands are a warm grey. The window wall features a 5-foot-long stone farm sink with two faucets, while a 60″ range and two full 30″ ovens are located on the opposite wall. A custom hood with elegant, gentle sloping lines is embellished with a hammered antique brass collar and antique pewter rivets.

Modern Farmhouse kitchen with shaker style cabinet doors and black drawer pull hardware. White Oak floating shelves with LED underlighting over beautiful, Cambria Quartz countertops. The subway tiles were custom made and have what appears to be a texture from a distance, but is actually a herringbone pattern in-lay in the glaze. Wolf brand gas range and oven, and a Wolf steam oven on the left. Rustic black wall scones and large pendant lights over the kitchen island. To maximize flow we decided against a large island or any peninsula concept, and opted for a two-island design. The placement for individual work zones with supporting appliances came together easily. Soffits were added to the 9’ ceiling, controlling the height of the cabinetry and creating opportunities for design details. The design features industrial-style floor tile and leathered countertops around the perimeter. Dark cabinetry is showcased on the islands and cabinets flanking the custom metal hood. Rift cut white oak cabinets stained with subtle grey add warmth. The center of the room is bright with white countertops, waterfalling to the floor where the islands meet. The soffits feature grasscloth with dramatically scaled lighting. Photo: Jim Furhmann

We are so excited to share with you this beautiful kitchen remodel in Lakeville, MN. Our clients came to us wanting to take out the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. By taking out the wall, we were able to create a new larger kitchen! We kept the sink in the same location, and then moved the stove to the same wall as the sink. The fridge was moved to the far wall, we added an oven/micro combinations and a large pantry. We even had some extra room to create a desk space. The coolest thing about this kitchen is the DOUBLE island! The island closest to the sink functions as a working island and the other is for entertaining with seating for guests. What really shines here is the combination of color that creates such a beautiful subtle elegance. The warm gray color of the cabinets were paired with the brown stained cabinets on the island. We then selected darker honed granite countertops on the perimeter cabinets and a light gray quartz countertop for the islands. The slightly marbled backsplash helps to tie everything in and give such a richness to the whole kitchen. I love adding little pops throughout the kitchen, so matte black hardware and the matte black sink light are perfect! We are so happy with the final result of this kitchen! We would love the opportunity to help you out with any of your remodeling needs as well! Contact us today

The tile in this kitchen was hand glazed in a beautiful gray metallic finish and we wanted to highlight as much as possible. To do so, we designed custom, open backed upper cabinetry with interior lighting and glass shelves to fully showcase the tile. From a distance, you can see the tile extend all of the way across the kitchen wall providing an uninterrupted view of the feature wall. Photo: Stephen Allen
