What Houzz contributors are saying:
Refresh your textiles Your towels are one of the most visible items in this room, and over time, their colours may fade or change, the edges may fray, the loops may rip. Those old towels may be usable, but are they still pretty? New towels are a quick, relatively low-cost way to refresh a tired space. You might keep bath, hand and face towels in the same colours, or consider a hand towel in a complementary colour or print. Changing out rugs and shower curtains can also be a fun way to add a pop of personality. If you have a sliding shower door that doesn’t quite look like a showpiece, you can install a shower curtain in front of it.
14. Mix up your texturesAdd warmth and interest to an otherwise all-white home by layering coloured rugs, wood furniture, artwork, wall-hangings, plants and other accent pieces. The bathroom is an unexpected place to incorporate these items and may make you appreciate the smallest room in your home a bit more.TELL US Do you like your walls white or coloured? 5. Choose towels that improve the scheme This includes hand towels and bath towels. If there’s already too much going on colour-wise in your bathroom, white towels are best. But if your bathroom is mostly white, go for something more eye-catching, like this Turkish towel, which adds lively colour and pattern.
