Scope of work:
Update and reorganize within existing footprint for new master bedroom, master bathroom, master closet, linen closet, laundry room & front entry. Client has a love of spa and modern style..
Challenge: Function, Flow & Finishes.
Master bathroom cramped with unusual floor plan and outdated finishes
Laundry room oversized for home square footage
Dark spaces due to lack of windos and minimal lighting
Color palette inconsistent to the rest of the house
Solution: Bright, Spacious & Contemporary
Re-worked spaces for better function, flow and open concept plan. New space has more than 12 times as much exterior glass to flood the space in natural light (all glass is frosted for privacy). Created a stylized boutique feel with modern lighting design and opened up front entry to include a new coat closet, built in bench and display shelving. .

A Victorian Laundry and mudroom with tiles and flooring inspired by the client's international travels. The floor tiles are reminiscent of the Doge's Palace flooring and the splashback tiles have names of their favourite cities. Soft colours and a bright storage unit create a unique style. A custom heating/ventilation system and vicotrian inspired drying racks ensure that washing will dry indoors during winter. Photo by Paul McCredie
Focus Kitchens & Bathrooms
This bathroom is at the back of the house, at some time in the past this extension had been added with a shower and vanity in it but nothing else. It was built behind a laundry. The only toilet in the house was located at the back end of the laundry. The window in the existing laundry opened into the extension.
The client wanted a more practical use of this area & a playroom for their young son. So the old toilet and laundry was demolished creating a bigger area for a playroom. The internal window was removed and a new window installed at the end of the room creating a lovely playroom.
The old bathroom was completely gutted and a new shower & toilet installed.
Along the wall where the internal window had been we built a European Laundry making much better use of this space.
