I installed interlocking mats in several horse sheds and they went in very easily, fit together like a dream, and are providing great footing for my retired horses who live 24/7 in these sheds. We installed them ourselves, using a skid steer to prepare the ground, then gravel topped with stone dust. We leveled the footing and tamped it down, and then put some the mats. Perfect! I have previously used another brand of shed mats, but I like the smaller interlocking tabs on these. The site had been used as a spoil site whilst building work on the main house was undertaken. It was cleaned and rotovated before the concrete base and brick course was laid.

Set out with a concept that evolved nicely once I hit Heritage Salvage recycled material yard in Petaluma Ca. Our client was in search of a space where she could relax, read, and meditate. She chose a non-tradtional approach and decided to transform her existing backyard shed into a space that she could call her own. With her artistic flare in mind, we built a living area complete with vaulted ceilings, shelving, painted floors, faux fireplace mantle, and lighting. Her eclectic decor is cozy, calming and very much feminine- which is exactly was she had in mind.

This backyard garden studio with a modern design provides a comfortable and stylish retreat for a home office, art studio, cottage bunkie or for backyard entertaining. The layout features two built in work stations, and a built-in sofa bench that can be used for reading, watching televisions or an afternoon nap. A second story loft provides space for storage, a kid's play area or a separate space for lounging. With a footprint just over 100 square feet, this studio makes efficient use of space while minimizing the footprint of the backyard and may be constructed without a permit in many jurisdictions (check your local building code).
