Creating a space saving bathroom in this compact apartment. We worked with the contractor to carefully move pipework including the soil pipe to minimise boxing, and gain crucial sqm. We replaced the bath with a walk-in shower, repositioned the WC, added recessed storage and fitted a pocket door – significantly increasing the usable space in the room. A finish of white bathroom tiles, and mirrored bathroom cabinet created a light bright finish APM completed project management and interior design throughout the design and build of this apartment renovation in London. This small bathroom has a custom mix mosaic tile on the counter, floor and walls. These recycled glass tiles are 3/4"x3/4" and you can make any custom mix.

This Remodeled bathroom in Del Mar, San Diego featured a sliding vanity mirror with LED lights. The TOTO undermount sink in cotton and the Grohe Eurosmart Widespread Faucet in chrome round out the vanity. The Starmark Farmington Marshmellow cabinets in cream and the Dal Tile Quartz Woven Wool Countertop complete the counter. The Hansgrohe Raindance shower head, Arizona Tile in Metalwood Platino floors and Dal Tile Brancacci in Aria Ivory give the shower a luxurious feel. The family bathroom in my Loughton project was an awkward, long, and narrow space, so needed clever design and compact sanitaryware to fit everything in. The floor and wall tiles are Mandarin Stone Terrazzo Nouveau, a porcelain tiles which still has colour and flecks running throughout, so no need for a tile trim. The white bath is by Bette, white basin is by Lusso Stone, taps and showerhead are by Hansgroche. The black circular bathroom mirror is by Cielo and wall light is by SCP.

(It’s also the most budget-friendly option in terms of plumbing). Maybe separate rooms for toilet and shower make sense? Maybe you want to work with a window above a bathtub or in the shower. You may live in an old house where you can keep some of the original character of the home, or you may be working with a small apartment space. 2 Consider How You Use Your Bathroom

Once you’ve gathered some inspiration, have a think about who is using the room, and how they will be using it. A single guy needs a lot less storage than a teenage girl, and a family bathroom may need to consider elderly family members. You may also want to accommodate a washer and dryer in the bathroom, since it’s where clothes are taken off frequently. Also consider safety and cleaning. Ensure no-one will slip and hurt themselves, and consider that many little tiles will make for many little nooks for grime to accumulate, whereas big surfaces like a sink that is integrated with the vanity counter, or a big mirror will make wiping down the surface much easier than having sinks sitting on top or an intricately designed mirror.
