The addition of three red pendants over the island upstand completed the picture and helped to anchor the kitchen. Natural glass painted white was used as a splashback behind the cooktop and on both the internal and external sides of the island bench upstand. This created a lot of light and again provided an accent of green that now tied in with the cupboards and the garden. Cabinet recessed lighting and extra ceiling downlights ensured that task and general lighting were adequate for all situations. Photo's Andrew Ashton
