We discovered an old capped well with excellent water, so we built a raised pool leaving service access to the well, where we installed a submerged pump with a float valve. The water flowed over a couple of pouring stones and into a 3 foot deep ground level pool. A circular overflow rill was made from old granite gullies, where it returned to the well. Gully very popular with local bird life.
