“We bought a plain, dated, house in Chagford in 2014, with the intention of carrying out major alterations to fully exploit the great situation and outlook, and to create a light-filled energy efficient contemporary home. Although I have a long background in building and design, we decided that we wanted to work with a younger architect who could bring current expertise in planning, design, and technical advice. From a short list of three, we appointed Annie Martin, mainly because of her proven design skills and experience in dealing with planning within the National Park, but also because of her grasp of our brief ; we felt that we could work well together. Annie took on the initial design concepts, the planning and building regulation applications, and bringing in the specialist advice on structural and energy issues, on time and budget; this allowed us to complete the virtual rebuild of the house in a five month period. She is very well informed on technical matters and understands the practicalities of the building process - with an unusual talent for freehand sketch details about how things go together. We are now enjoying living in a very special home, much admired, and Annie's work was central to achieving this. We have no hesitation in recommending Annie ; if we ever decide to do another project, we would seek her involvement from the outset. Martin Procter”

“Employed to design a house and garage in Devon. We asked for the design to have WOW factor and we certainly got that. Subsequently employed to oversee building works and issue architects certificate upon completion. The project was totally successful, 'Scarratt & Martyn' were a joy to work with and we are working with them currently on a new project.”
