“Brent from Eight Six Design was the architect that created our fantastic new house. Its a single story 4 bedroom, cladded, colour bond roof with above ground concrete pool, wide entrance hall and lots of deck He did a wonderfull job and was always eager to help with any changes and worked well with the all the trades as required. His design has had many people asking us about him and we have referred new cutomers already. We had very little trouble with a build that had to be 1.5 meters off ground level and could have been very difficult, Brents ability to see potential faults and deal with council and certifiers made our project run like a well oiled machine. I can't thank him enough and would reccomend Eight Six Design very highly.”

Architelle was recommended by a local builder who gave us the names of a few architects that work in the Area. He told me Margeret Skilbeck was conversant with Kuringai council regulations and her turnaround time in submitting work was also good. We were very happy with the design and final result. One of the best things we did was engage Margeret to supervise the building project which included weekly site meetings. it took away a lot of the stress involved in building work. She gave us very good advise along the way and helped in choosing materials and fittings. She was professional, capable, efficient and very pleasant and we have no hesitation in recommending Her. “The lake house is a much loved holiday home. However having survived being the host for over three decades to four children and countless family and friends, it desperately needed some work. Despite several attempts to do it ourselves, living in Sydney made it essentially impossible. Bringing Jasmine onboard as the project manager changed all that. Jasmine was professional, diligent and understanding of what we wanted and what the house needed. She sourced reasonably priced quality tradesmen and oversaw each step of the process. Without being pushy, Jasmine provided ideas when we were stuck and identified items to consider that weren't initially in our scope but that significantly improved the final outcome. The completion of the works has been timely and we're still coming to terms with how amazing the place looks now! We will definitely be using EKAH Studio again and highly recommend it to others.”

We have undertaken 2 renovations and Vanessa was the architect on both occasions. In fact, we delayed our 2nd renovation to coincide with her return to Australia so she could be on-site for the job. Vanessa has a relaxed and friendly manner that belies her expertise and talent. Whilst her ideas and recommendations are outstanding, Vanessa's great strength is her ability to listen to and understand what we were hoping to achieve and then to make it happen. Twelve months on from completion and we continue to be blown away with how happy we are with Vanessa's design. We love the home that Vanessa has designed for us and truly couldn't be happier. The wonderful thing is that it isn't just a home for adults or a home for kids. Vanessa has designed a home that is to be lived in and everyone living in the house loves it. The design takes in so many considerations - it's a home for entertaining and a home for living; it accommodates people having their own spaces but also areas for people to interact; the space is utilised extremely well with the roof and under deck areas utilised to create maximum storage and an additional room. The design is very clever. “We met Milos from Site Studio through a neighbour, and were immediately on the same wavelength. We love Milos' down-to-earth approach, understanding our need to transform our small dark terrace into what it's become - a light, airy, modern, industrial and a little bit funky home! Milos was in tune with our support for sustainability, for material reuse (we used 100 year old thick hardwood beams from an old George St building, recycled spotted gum flooring for some cladding, and now have a great recycled brick feature wall). Milos also got his hands dirty! We spent a couple of afternoons sanding and staining our huge beams. It was fun, but also reflects Milos' approach which is very much connected to the build. Milos and our builder, Andre from Kestrel Building, got on well and they both included me as client in the whole process. Milos was super creative throughout the build - from roof garden ideas, to our perforated steel landing to allow light into the hall below, to the 'stepped' roof with clerestorey windows to bring in air and light, to ideas for alternative materials, and much more. Milos is also very good value, bring his creative ideas at very reasonable rates. He also was happy for me to take charge where I could, in order to cut costs. And he included and actively sought my input. We are thrilled with our home that started with Milos' great design, and that he help guide along the way. We now have our much needed upstairs 'parents retreat' with ensuite and small robe, our beloved roof garden, our new downstairs bathroom, kitchen and living room with high ceilings and clerestorey windows leading out to the landscaped courtyard. “We had been contemplating renovating for a few years. The house was dated & tired. We had a few companies look at our house but never felt they had the right solutions. The house was basically a combination of an old federation house with a 2 story addition that was done before we bought. While the house was comfortable it always felt a bit like 2 separate houses. James design came up with the best solution that totally made the function & appearance of our home work. We had a pretty strict budget & didn't want the budget to blow out, which is often the case. James design were also given the task of project managing the construction plus advising on finishes.
