“Scott designed and drafted plans for a master bedroom extension for us. The plans were submitted and approved by the city with no revisions. That was awesome & a relief! He listened to our desires, took time to answer our questions & responded to all our concerns. He is very knowledgeable about codes & rules. He was efficient & his fees were reasonable. It was a pleasant experience working with him. We are looking forward to having our new addition completed. We would highly recommend California At Home to anyone. “Impluvium listened to my spiritual desires to create a contemporary space that made guests feel instantly welcome while providing function for everyday life. I described a desire that my home subliminally feel like a space where East meets West. Many visitors comment on how "happy", comfortable, and Zen like my home is. Mission accomplished thanks to Tim Haley! The project involved an extensive remodel of my 3 bedroom/2 bath townhouse inclusive of footprint expansions (addition of ~75 sq. ft.), relocation of all plumbing and electrical, removal of demising wall, new windows, doors and skylights, and creative solutions designed to maximize space. In particular, Impluvium not only designed an aesthetically beautiful ceiling in the great room, but it also provides layers of light for multiple uses at all times of the day and night, functionally it is a chase which delivers the in-home sound system and HVAC system, and it masks the new structural beam required when the demising wall was removed. The accuracy and completeness of Impluvium's design and architectural drawings were instrumental in expediting HOA approvals and permits.”

“We recommend John without reservation. He was the architect for our remodel several years ago. Many remodels feel very tacked-on. Every one of his remodeling projects felt very organic--they felt like the house was meant to be that way. He not only achieved that with ours but also solved some tough drainage problems on our lot. Years after the project was completed, we still marvel at how well the house works and how well it has handled our changing needs. He is also very professional. He set our expectations regarding cost and timing and met those expectations. Finally he provided great references to a contractor and a designer. We were so impressed, we just hired him again to work on our vacation house.”

“Masha recently worked on bedroom/bathroom remodel of our home. This was 3rd peoject she helped us on and we are thrilled with the results. Our house is very unusual in the way that most walls are curved and our bedroom and bathroom area had many dividing half walls breaking the space up. We wanted to open it up and create an open room, but still have visual divisions for the spaces with different purposes. Masha understood what we were after and offered us multiple solutions. She worked through our comments until we were happy with the layout. Working with her was pleasant and fun experience and I can’t wait for us to work on other areas of our house together!”

“I hired Jeff to develop plans for me on a house I was flipping in west Oakland. He is the best designer/Builder I have worked with. Jeff drew the plans and made everything ready for me to bring to the city for permits, Oakland gave me no problems and accepted his plans with no review saving me time and money. His expertise with design software not only makes for a better finished product, but also moves the process along very quickly. He brought me through the design process with him on (Go to meeting). Where I was able to give feedback and make some input right from my own iPad, pretty cool process. I highly recommend Rexford Design and will be using his services on my next project!”

“We have hired Thom Torvend to design 2 homes for us in the past 10 years, as well as buildings for our business. Thom is exceptionally creative and his designs are timeless. His attention to detail is impeccable making his homes stand out amongst all others. Apart from Thom's design abilities, he has great rapport with all contractors, and vendors. A real pleasure to work with him. Made the design process a real joy. Thom is very good about designing what the client wants and keeping within their individual style. Thom is also good at providing the client with several options to choose from in certain aspects of the projects. Thom Torvend continues to maintain a reputation of designing high quality timeless homes, as well as commercial buildings. I will post photos upon completion.”
