“Excellent job all-round by the Sleep Scientia team! My apartment has a New York style loft bedroom and wide glass balcony doors down below in the lounge room which previously only had ordinary sheer blinds covering it. My sleep would be ruined every morning at sunrise when the sunlight would blast into my bedroom and my health was being affected by this. Despite the width of the glass balcony doors being over 2.8m, they were able to install a custom-made single-width blackout blind system with pelmet box and side channels which blocks out 99% of direct sunlight. There is still a little light seeping in from the bottom however that is because my “window” is actually a balcony doorway and I chose not to install a bottom channel on the floor to avoid a permanent trip hazard. I chose Sleep Scientia because they were the only blinds company that focused on installing blackout blinds to help with sleep for light-sensitive people like myself. All the other blinds companies didn’t seem to understand or care about my problem and had quoted me solutions that would involve two smaller ordinary blinds side by side which would not have stopped the sunlight from leaking in around the edges. In terms of the quality of the blind system - I am very impressed as everything seems quite solid and I’ve been told it’s all made in Australia. I was also surprised by how affordable it was considering the quality and that it’s custom-made. Due to the width of the blind it has to be operated by crank but I find it just as easy to use as any blind chain. Installation was punctual and a quick job, and the turnaround timeframe they provided was spot on. After installing the blackout blind, my sleep has improved a lot and kudos to the excellent job by Sleep Scientia.”
