Metta Energy
Solar Power Contractors
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars12 April 2018
Metta Energy brought my vision for a sustainable home to life, especially when I knew very little about where to start this process of becoming more energy conscious. Metta were passionate about what they did and were incredibly professional along the way. I would highly recommend starting the conversation with them, if you are considering solar or batteries for your home.

I presented Martin with a significant challenge; to design and install a power system for a new house which was to be totally off-grid (for all power, waste, and water) and genuinely emission free (either directly or indirectly), yet had all the appliances, convenience, and comfort expected of a modern home. As such, it would need to be all-electric, with no generator backup, and no use of gas, oil, coal, or wood for domestic hot water, heating, or cooking. And to make the task even more challenging, the system would have to be robust enough to withstand use by occupants using it for short term holiday rentals, who may have no interest in or understanding of how the electricity was supplied. In essence it had to be bullet proof, and functionally indistinguishable from a normal grid-connected dwelling. Plus, the system had to be maintenance free for at least ten years. Most renewable energy experts told me this was virtually impossible, especially through a cold, wet Tasmanian winter, and hadn’t been done before in this sort of climate. However, with the assistance of a house designed to exceed German Passivhaus energy-efficiency standards, Martin met the challenge, designing and installing a system which so far has exceeded expectations. We decided to install a solar power setup when we bought our town-house and after hunting around the web for companies and checking reviews on them we decided Infinite Energy had the best feedback. We engaged them to quote for an solution that would fit our house and decided on 12 x Q-Cells 255w Mono Panels & 1 x SMA SB 3000TL-21 3 kw inverter which was the maximum number of Panels we could fit on our roof. From the initial stage to the final 'handover' we were informed all the way as to where things were at and the installers asked and paid attention to layout suggestions from use regarding cabling etc and even though they worked quickly did a good job. Several years on and the system is still going strong and we are happy with that.
